Karel Appel – A life in photographs
Dutch Silver Camera winner Nico Koster photographed Karel Appel from close by over a period of thirty years, immortalizing his flamboyant life as an artist in Amsterdam, Paris, Tokyo and New York. These photo reportages have now been compiled in a book to mark the centenary of Appel’s birth.
This book, titled ‘Karel Appel – a life in photographs’ will be presented in our gallery on Saturday 9 October, from 4 until 7 pm. Starting that date, we will also take care of an exhibition of photographs by Nico Koster, all of them published in the book. This show can be visited until Sunday 24 October.
CoBrA expert Willemijn Stokvis and former Hermitage director Ernst Veen contributed to the book in words.
‘Karel Appel – a life in photographs’ is a Jaski Gallery publication. The book can be purchased for € 30.
